Resquip ltd will have a stand at ‘Interschutz 2010’ to be staged in Leipzig this June from the 7th - 12th inclusive ( for more information, click here) ... Resquip ltd has moved! Our original workshops were located in what was once a part of the Leighton Estate, and our new location is also pleasantly rural (click here for more information about our big move!) ...

THE RESQUIP HORSE

Our horse weighs in at around 200Kg (about 450 lbs.) plus the weight of the floor stand.  It is possible to increase the weight if required but the general consensus is that 200Kg is about right; if it were heavier it would be difficult to place it into some rescue scenarios and it could present problems when training a small group.

The floor stand now has wheels included in the price; the front pair is fixed and the rear pair is both steerable and lockable; we have attached some images. The horse is built round an articulated steel skeleton that provides free-standing strength whilst allowing full articulation of the head, neck, and limbs.

The preferred colour is now white for a number of reasons, in particular, because this colour minimises heat build-up if the horse is left out in the sun (not usually a problem here in mid Wales!), the precise position of slings etc. can clearly be seen against a white background (important when training) and it looks most impressive when it has just been hauled out of a mud hole!  Other colours are available on request; if you wish, we will snail-mail you our latest brochure as it shows a white horse in action please email us with your snail-mail address)

We now use a spring steel strip inside the neck (instead of the original box section stiffener) as this allows for a degree of sideways head and neck movement. This enables the head to be raised when the horse is on its side (comfort/head protection) and enables more realistic positioning of the horse prior to the rescue exercise.   This improvement has not added significantly to production costs so we are holding the price at the current level of UK £5600 plus VAT.  This price includes the wheeled floor stand, all necessary tools and a set of spare fixings.

The horse is delivered either boxed or standing on the frame and with all legs fully locked; it can be lifted off the frame and stood on its hooves provided that the ground is not too uneven, it is used in this manner when being stood in mud or water.  By removing the locking pins it is possible to flex the legs for all other rescue scenarios.
