Basic Casualty Relocation Kit (Equine)
About the Basic Casualty Relocation Kit (Equine)
On site equestrian event response teams, racecourse response teams, equine ambulance providers, veterinary hospital clinicians, ambulatory vets and military response teams are just a few examples of organised responders who may have to deal with relocation or support for recumbent large animals. The Basic Casualty Relocation kit allows for the management of most situations, other than that which requires specialist help, such as for a lifting provision, where those with specialist technical capabilities (such as the fire and rescue service) will be required.

Following a risk assessment and needs analysis, event organisers or agencies can determine to provide on site capabilities to deal with unwanted situations like a trapped rider, horse stuck in a fence or just down in an inaccessible place. Purchase of any equipment should be accompanied by training, in order to recognise safe systems of work and the limits and capabilities of a team
