About the Cow Mannequin
With anatomical features based on a large dairy cow but with the same familiar skeletal system and functionality of the equine mannequin, the ResQuip cow will complement a large animal rescue team’s diverse suite of rescue training resources. Participation in an innovation project in 2026/7 will lead to formal recommendations for the management of bovine casualties that need relocating on farms. For livestock educators, this will be the go-to mannequin to support training, resulting in enhanced safety and welfare for farmers and their animals.
Included with each mannequin is a storage / transport trolley and set of tools for maintenance and dismantlement.

Cattle entrapments or, often in a farm context “downacows”, require rescue or relocation tactics based on the nature of the task, environment and specific anatomical requirements. As the rescue initiative expanded, ResQuip responded to the request for diversifying their range of mannequins to reflect size and features of the most common rescue casualties. Having the ability to change species during realistic scenario training affords opportunity to discuss and select alternative rescue equipment and methods based on the anatomical features and medical condition of the animal casualty
